Candace Chapman, Canadian soccer defender, born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago

Candace Marie Chapman (born 2 April 1983, in Port of Spain) is a Trinidad and Tobago-born, Canadian soccer defender who is currently playing for the Western New York Flash and is a member of the Canadian national team.

In league action, she last played for FC Gold Pride of Women's Professional Soccer, a club which ceased operations on November 16, 2010, along with fellow Canadian and national team captain Christine Sinclair.

Chapman was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with majors in sociology and computer applications.

After playing with Boston Breakers for the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer season, Chapman was waived at the end of the season. She subsequently agreed to terms with FC Gold Pride for the 2010 Women's Professional Soccer season.

On 6 August 2008, Chapman scored the first point in the first event at the 2008 Summer Olympics with her goal against Argentina in the 27th minute in Tianjin, China.
